Fasting on the North Sea - a week just for you

Sometimes you need to get away from it all to reconnect with yourself. At the Lighthouse Hotel & Spa, we invite you to give your body and mind a conscious time-out - seven days that create space for regeneration, clarity and new energy.

Fasting - or detox - doesn't just mean doing without, but above all gaining: the body is allowed to unburden itself, the metabolism comes to rest, processes can reorganise themselves. Old fibres go, lightness can return. A reset that is noticeably good for you.

During your fasting week, you will receive personal and professional support in a small group of a maximum of ten participants. At your side: Heike Schmidtke, our fasting and health coach and experienced naturopath. With her holistic approach, in-depth training in homeopathy, osteopathy and lymphatic drainage as well as a wealth of experience in fasting support, she will ensure that you feel safe, understood and in good hands at all times.

The North Sea takes care of the rest: fresh air, space, the revitalising stimulating climate. Walks on the dyke, time to take a deep breath - and yes, maybe the wind will even push you forward a little. The week is complemented by yoga and Pilates sessions with Bärbel Brouwers, which harmonise movement, mindfulness and body awareness.

At the end of the week, you should not only feel refreshed, but also invigorated - ready to return to everyday life with new clarity and energy.

ARRIVAL / DISCHARGE DAY

Fasting support - The start
Introduction to the fasting week by our fasting guide Heike Schmidtke. Our Helgoland event room with a view of the North Sea and the Wadden Sea is available to you for the entire period. With this view, you can relax in a peaceful atmosphere.


Joint relaxation meal in the evening
The fasting cure then begins with a one- to two-day preparation phase, the so-called detox days. On this evening, the body is relieved of high-calorie foods, nicotine and alcohol.

1ST DAY OF LENT

Start the day
You will find fresh ginger water and a variety of teas to start the day in our Helgoland event room with a view of the North Sea and the Wadden Sea.


Drainage with Epsom salt
The purging takes place independently in your hotel room. A classic fasting cure therefore begins with a day of detoxification and a thorough bowel cleansing, which is repeated several times during the fast if necessary. You will receive all the relevant information and utensils on the introductory day with Heike Schmidtke.


Lunch & evening meal
Vegetable broth is the focus of the fasting week. Our kitchen serves daily changing vegetable broths with vegetables from the region. You will also receive the energy you need in the form of fresh juices that change daily.


2ND DAY OF LENT

Start the day
You will find fresh ginger water and a variety of teas to start the day in our Helgoland event room with a view of the North Sea and the Wadden Sea.

Drainage by enema
You will be able to remove toxins independently in your hotel room. An enema, also known as a colonic irrigation, relieves and cleanses the bowels. You will receive all the relevant information and utensils on the introductory day with Heike Schmidtke.

Aquafitness
Our hotel is connected to the adventure pool, the Meerzeit Büsum Wellenbad and Spa. In cooperation with Meerzeit Büsum, we offer you a changing aqua fitness programme adapted to the fasting week.

Lunch & dinner
The focus of the fasting week is on vegetable broth. Our kitchen serves daily changing vegetable broths with vegetables from the region. You also get the energy you need in the form of fresh juices that change daily.

Liver wrap
As part of a fasting week, a liver compress is recommended daily at lunchtime after a meal, as the liver is particularly active at this time.


3RD DAY OF LENT

Start the day
You will find fresh ginger water and a variety of teas to start the day in our Helgoland event room with a view of the North Sea and the Wadden Sea.

Wellness & well-being for body and soul
In collaboration with our personal trainer Bärbel Brouwers, we offer you a changing programme of yoga and Pilates sessions on selected days. These 30-60 minute sessions are adapted to the fasting week and cover topics such as walking meditation and yoga breathing techniques.

Lunch & dinner
The focus of the fasting week is on vegetable broth. Our kitchen serves daily changing vegetable broths with vegetables from the region. You will also receive the energy you need in the form of fresh juices that change daily.

Liver wrap
As part of a fasting week, a liver compress is recommended daily at lunchtime after a meal, as the liver is particularly active at this time.

Fasting support - an intermediate stage
On this day there will be a 60-minute exchange with our fasting counsellor Heike Schmidtke. How have you been so far? How is the fasting week going?


4TH DAY OF LENT

Start the day
You will find fresh ginger water and a variety of teas to start the day in our Helgoland event room with a view of the North Sea and the Wadden Sea.

Drainage by enema
You will be able to remove your waste products yourself in your hotel room. An enema, also known as a colonic irrigation, relieves and cleanses the bowels. You will receive all the relevant information and utensils on the introductory day with Heike Schmidtke.

FAST BREAKING

Start of the day
Breaking the fast is the term used to describe the end of a one-day or longer fast. Traditionally, to break the fast you start the day with a stewed apple. The apple is the ideal food to start eating again. You will also find fresh ginger water and a variety of teas in our Helgoland event room with a view of the North Sea and the Wadden Sea.

Wellness & well-being for body and soul
In collaboration with our personal trainer Bärbel Brouwers, we offer you a changing programme of Yoga & Pilates sessions on selected days. These 30-60 minute sessions are adapted to the fasting week and cover topics such as walking meditation and yoga breathing techniques.

Laxation through enema
The purging takes place independently in your hotel room. An enema, also known as a colonic irrigation, relieves and cleanses the bowel. You will receive all the relevant information and utensils on the introductory day with Heike Schmidtke.

Lunch
After the fasting days, the body has to slowly adjust to solid food again. Instead of a vegetable broth, we start with a light soup. For example, a potato soup.

Liver compress
As part of a fasting week, a liver compress is recommended daily at lunchtime after a meal, as the liver is particularly active at this time.

Dinner
To ensure that your fasting week continues to have a long-term positive effect on your health after your stay with us, you should not fall back into old eating patterns at the end of the week. In the evening, we serve solid food such as potato and carrot vegetables in butter


1. SET-UP DAY / DEPARTURE

Start to the day
During the first set-up day, you will start with a light breakfast in the form of a creamy porridge with carrot & apple. In addition, fresh ginger water and various teas are available in our Helgoland event room with a view of the North Sea and the Wadden Sea.

Individual departure
On departure, we will give you a small fruit and vegetable pack for the journey home. You will receive this at reception when you check out.
