"How to Sauna": The most important basics for your Gervasoni Suite
To help you get the most out of your sauna experience, we have summarised the most important sauna basics for you in a short guide:
- Preparation is everything: Start with a warm shower and dry yourself thoroughly. A warm foot bath before your first sauna session can also be very pleasant.
- The right temperature: Choose a temperature that is comfortable for you. Beginners should start with lower temperatures (70-80°C) and increase slowly.
- The duration of the sauna sessions: Pay attention to your body and leave the sauna if you feel unwell. A first sauna session should not last longer than 8-12 minutes.
- Don't forget to cool down: It is important to cool down after every sauna session. Start with cold showers or baths to stimulate your circulation.
- Take periods of rest: Give your body plenty of rest between sauna sessions. 15-20 minutes is ideal to relax and regenerate.
- Drink enough: Drink plenty of water or unsweetened tea before, during and after the sauna to compensate for fluid loss. 1
